About Ombiliha

A proudly Namibian-owned meat processing and distribution business in the heart of Ondangwa.

Our Story

A Legacy That Lives On

Ombiliha was established in the early 1970s by Mr. Killian Amupolo. It began as a general dealer at a time when commercial businesses were almost non-existent in Ondangwa, and grew into one of the region's best-known enterprises.

His partnership with Mr. Hannes Basson of Grootfontein, built on mutual respect and shared goals, established a livestock trading arm that carried the business into livestock trading and meat supply.

In 2004 Mr. Amupolo sold the general dealer to Mr. Hannes Basson, who transformed it into a 24-hour meat centre and bakery under the name Ombiliha Meat Centre. It has since become a household name across northern Namibia, known for affordable, high-quality meat — for individuals and institutions alike.
